Environmental Construction Estimator

Heavy Civil Construction Estimator

CBP Environmental is looking for someone who is interested in building a career as we continue to expand and grow our business. The estimator job includes attending pre-job inspections and pre-job meetings, understanding blueprints, performing take-offs, estimating materials, pricing and bid preparation.

Estimator must be willing to work in advance, understanding all aspects of the needs of the client to assure that specifications, and designs are feasible, and consistent with manufacturer standards.

Estimator must follow-up with subcontractors and vendors to ensure that bids are received in a timely manner.

BASIC FUNCTION:


Through an understanding of the scope of work & RFP, this position will perform accurate quantity take-offs, RFIs, bid clarifications, and direct estimates for the civil/structural discipline. Experience in Heavy Industrial construction a must.

REQUIREMENTS:

Perform complete discipline estimate from receipt of bid package through final bid review, including: site visits, scope determination, input data into computerized estimating systems, questions to Owner/Engineer and qualifications.

Manage the available bid time to insure accurate and timely preparation of a complete estimate.

Organize and detail the estimate so that it can be properly priced, easily understood for review purposes, and efficiently turned over to the field personnel.

Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, fairness and ethical behavior when representing the company.

Cross trained in field experience, purchasing, and RFP’s.

Travel required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Outlook and Word required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

High school degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum 5 Years construction estimating experience in Heavy Civil construction projects.

Design build estimating experience.

Experience with Microsoft Office, Hard Dollar for Construction, Engineering, and Public-Sector Estimating, Primavera P6, AutoCAD 3D, Agtek or similar Takeoff Software estimating software a plus.

Field Safety Coordinator

The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:

A proven track record of conducting comprehensive site safety audits at project sites.

Will be able to coordinate with Director of Safety to enforce safety standards, work procedures, rules, and regulations as they pertain to specific areas of operation.

Ability to critically assess, and evaluate hazards as well as communicating corrective actions.

Verify corrective measures are completed in a timely manner.

Ability to provide continued education to the workers on safe practices, and monitoring work crews for safety compliance.

Investigate injury/illness incidents, vehicle accidents, property damage, and theft to determine loss, cause, and prevention.

Job Requirements:

Safety Certifications a plus.

Minimum 3 years experience within Safety and Health.

Strong knowledge of OSHA and applicable federal, state, local, and company safety regulations.

Ability to recognize onsite risk factors.

Ability to work independently, and as part of a team.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, OSHA requirements, and procedure manuals.

Computer knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Work, and Microsoft Outlook.

Ability to travel and work out of town.

Knowledge of Human Resources.

Heavy Equipment Operator

We are currently looking for experienced heavy equipment operators to join our team.

Our operators are responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life.

In addition to operating equipment, responsibilities include:

  • Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
  • Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
  • Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
  • Advise Management of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
  • Participate in routine maintenance.
  • Practice workplace safety.

Job Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience in Heavy Mobile Equipment Operation.
  • Knowledge of safe & productive operation of heavy equipment.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol and medical/physical capability requirements.
  • Successful criminal background screen may be required
  • Ability to be a team leader in all safety aspects of the position
  • Position will require travel and possible weekend work.
  • Must be willing to work over-time as well.

Job Type: Full time position with hourly pay. Out of town bonus pay and per diem for all out of town work.
