Ronnie Cooper

Ronnie Cooper

CEO

At the helm of Cooper Barnette Page, Inc. since 1990, Ronnie Cooper’s history with the company dates all the way back to the beginning. Prior to CBP’s launch, Ronnie already boasted an extensive background in grading and construction with an emphasis on the design and realization of Speedway M.S.W. Landfill, among other projects. His experience in earthwork – which includes building railroads, lakes and dams – spans more than three decades. A Georgia Certified Landfill and Utility Manager, Ronnie has worked directly with Georgia’s Environmental Protection Division (EPD) – regularly participating in public hearings and government meetings on landfill issues throughout the state. Ronnie’s expertise also extends to the private sector – including two $16M condominium development projects in Destin, FL and a $10M 500-acre golf course and residential development in Statham, Ga.

Ronnie has been proud to follow in the footsteps of his father – Lewis Cooper – in more ways than one. Lewis launched Speedway Welding and Grading in 1969 – named after another pastime and family-owned business they loved: racing at Athens Speedway. Lewis was regionally famous at dirt and asphalt tracks in the South, and Ronnie shared his love of and talent for “driving fast and turning left.” He entered the world of NASCAR in 1988 by racing Busch Grand National, and in 1992, he won his first NASCAR Busch Grand National race at Lanier Raceway – where he also set a track record during qualification. This record drew the attention of Buick and led to a sponsorship. In 1994, Ronnie hung up his helmet to focus on family life and the family business.

Ronnie and his wife, Jeanne, have three grown children and two grandchildren. When not hard at work at CBP, he enjoys traveling, spending time with family, attending church at Grace Fellowship in Watkinsville and – occasionally – tackling residential remodeling and construction projects.
